Putting on Christ Series 10/28/11

10/28/11

"Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled," Matthew 5:6. Isaiah 55:1-2 > God gives us free nourishment. He takes care of us. What He offers money can't buy. We need to go to Him for this. "'Hunger and thirst' is a vivid description of those who crave God's righteousness (Psalm 42:1-2)," Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary. Psalm 42:1-2 shows us a description of thirsting after God; of seeking Him. We need to go after God. Matthew 6:33 makes it clear that we need to seek the Kingdom of God & His righteousness first & food, drink, clothes, & other things will be added. We must not worry, getting ourselves caught up in a tangle of web. Rather, we are to diligently seek God & His righteousness. Our Father takes care of us. He is the supplier of our needs (Philippians 4:19). The Lord is our sustainer; we must continually chase after after Him. Jesus gives us a water to which we will never thirst again. This will be a well of water springing up into everlasting life! All we need is in Christ. The only One that can satisfy is our Heavenly Father :)
